Catherine Belsey
Catherine Belsey

Catherine Belsey has consistently supported innovations in the study of culture in general and writing in particular. Since the 1980s, she has taken part in international efforts to prevent the practice of criticism from slipping back into nostalgia for a lost past. Instead, she believes that new and challenging ways of reading can add to the pleasures available to general readers, students and books groups, as well as professionals in the field. After a university career at Cambridge, Cardiff and Swansea, she now lives in Cambridge. Her latest publication is a book on ghost stories.
